It’s real. It’s intense. And I know it because I lived it.




From Media Maven to Burnout: My Wake-Up Call


For most of my adult life, I was defined by my career. I’m a serial entrepreneur, creative producer, and a media maven. I built brands, told stories, launched products, and led teams. I thrived on achievement—and I rarely stopped to breathe or even acknowledge any accomplishment.

Until menopause hit. And everything changed.

My focus disappeared. My energy crashed. I couldn’t sleep and I couldn't swallow. My digestion rebelled. I felt unmotivated, anxious, inflamed, and deeply, deeply exhausted.

I tried pushing through like I always had. But this time, it didn’t work. My para-sympathetic nervous system was shot. This wasn’t just stress. It was full-blown Meno-Burn—the collision of hormones, career fatigue, and decades of neglecting my own needs.



What’s Really Going On In Meno-Burn


If you feel like a stranger in your own body, it’s not in your head. Here’s why this happens:

  • Brain Fog & Mood Swings: The neurologist and author of The Menopause Brain, Lisa Mosconi, says,"Menopause is a Renovation project on the Brain! Estrogen is fuel for your brain. When it drops, so does your mental clarity. Your brain literally rewires during menopause, which can bring anxiety, forgetfulness, and emotional shifts.


  • Gut & Immune Imbalance: The drop in hormones alters your gut microbiome, leading to inflammation, food sensitivities, weight gain, and fatigue. It also affects your immune response and emotional resilience. For me it affected my gut so much that I got GERD, my esophagus became inflamed and my LES was so swollen, I couldn't swallow solid foods for 3 months!


  • Skin & Sleep Changes: Collagen production plummets. You might feel dried out, depleted, and disconnected from the woman you used to see in the mirror. In my early 50's my skin seemed great but this aspect crept up on me in the last year and I am so grateful for all the natural products I discovered that were extremely helpful.


  • Invisible Load: Add in the emotional labor of caregiving, the pressure of work, and the habit of self-sacrifice—and no wonder you feel burned out.

My Healing Path: From Burnout to Balance


The turning point for me was when I stopped blaming myself—and started listening to my inner wisdom and supporting myself. Deeply.

That meant quitting my 9-5, focusing on healing and doing what I rarely made time for:

  • Restoring my gut and immune system, which is where healing truly begins

  • Using bovine colostrum in delicious lunch shakes which helped reduce inflammation, rebuild my digestion, helped my skin recover and boosted my energy.

  • Honoring my nervous system, finally giving myself the calm and care I’d always reserved for others (yoga, meditation, Tai-chi, Sound healing, long walks with the dogs, fun!)

  • Letting go of outdated definitions of success—and embracing health as the new wealth. I call it WELLth.
